Pirelli announces tyre choices Spanish Grand Prix

Published on 30 April 2019 by Mike Motilall

Pirelli, Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier, has announced the tyre choices the teams have made for the Spanish Grand Prix. During the race weekend on Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, the teams have the three hardest compounds at their disposal, these are the C1, C2 and the C3. The C1 (the hardest compound) is recognizable by the white stripes, while the C2 (the medium) and C3 (soft tyre) are respectively striped yellow and red.

Looking at the overview of the tyre selection, it is remarkable that Aston Martin Red Bull Racing is quite reserved with their selection of only seven sets of the softest compound tyres. Both Ferraris have opted to run on nine sets of the softs, while both Mercedes have gone for eight sets. Apart from that, there aren’t many big differences.
